Faten Khoury

My name is Faten Khoury, but most people know me as Faye. I’m a proud Californian at heart, but my journey has recently brought me to Grand Junction, Colorado, where I now serve as the Director of the Dental Hygiene Department at Colorado Mesa University. I’m an educator, a leader, a mother of two amazing teenagers—and someone who believes in showing up with heart, purpose, and strength every single day.

In both life and work, I lead with compassion, clarity, and faith. Teaching has always been more than a job for me—it’s my calling. I believe in shaping minds with care, and I strive to create classrooms and communities where every person feels seen, heard, and valued.

Background & Education

My professional journey began in California, where I built my career in dental hygiene and health education. With years of experience as a clinician, faculty member, and now program director, I’ve been able to guide students through meaningful, rigorous education that prepares them not just for exams—but for life.

I’m deeply committed to academic excellence and to lifting up future healthcare leaders through mentorship, curriculum innovation, and thoughtful leadership. My move to Colorado has opened new doors, and I’m excited to continue growing professionally while helping shape the next generation of compassionate, highly skilled dental hygienists.

Core Values

My core values are the foundation of everything I do—both in the classroom and in the world. They help me lead with intention and live with purpose.

  • Faith – My anchor and guide. Faith grounds every decision I make and helps me walk with purpose.
  • Resilience – I’ve weathered many storms, and I continue to rise. I teach others to do the same with strength and grace.
  • Integrity – I walk in truth—even when it’s hard—because doing what’s right matters deeply to me.
  • Service – I find purpose in showing up for others with a giving heart, especially in healthcare and education.
  • Compassion – I lead with empathy, always seeking to understand and uplift those around me.
  • Excellence in Education – Teaching is my calling. I shape minds with care and strive for the highest standards.
  • Advocacy – I use my voice to speak for others, especially those who need support, visibility, and hope.

Purpose & Vision

My purpose is to lead with heart and to lift others through knowledge, kindness, and truth. I want my life’s work to reflect faith in action—helping students believe in themselves, showing up for my community, and modeling what it means to be a strong, compassionate woman in leadership.

I envision a future where education is not just about tests or titles, but about empowerment and transformation. Whether I’m guiding a student through a tough semester or speaking up for someone who doesn’t have a voice, I aim to lead with honesty, faith, and care. My children, my students, and the communities I serve are the reasons I show up every day—with strength in my step and hope in my heart.
